Jackson Electric Membership Corporation (Jackson EMC), located in Jefferson, GA, is now offering rebates to residential customers who install photovoltaic (PV) systems or solar water-heating systems in their homes.
Solar Power Program for Homes
Residential customers may qualify for the one-time rebate on Solar Panels, of $450 per kilowatt (kW) of DC installed. The rebate is limited up to 10 kW.
Conditions to qualify for this rebate include:
1. The selection of a trained and certified North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) contractor to install the system, which must be certified by the Florida Solar Energy Center.
2. The customer’s system must meet Jackson EMC requirements and be pre-approved for interconnection and net metering.
Solar Water Heater Rebate Program
A rebate is also available for the installation of solar water heaters.
Members may qualify for the one-time $450 rebate for installation of solar water heaters. A trained and certified NABCEP contractor is required for the installation of the system, in order for it to qualify. Some other solar water heater manufacturers’ training programs may be accepted, with prior approval. A list of pre-approved contractors is available by request, from Jackson EMC. The solar water heater system must be certified OG-300 by the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC).
