Palo Alto Electric is offering customers grants for installing solar panels through the Photovoltaic Partners Program, encouraging homes and businesses to install photovoltaic systems.

Colton Electric Utility makes installing solar panels cheaper by providing rebates to its customers. CEU’s goal is to have four megawatts of photovoltaic solar energy by December 31, 2016.

Alameda Municipal Power has a solar rebate program for their customers that install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in their homes. It has earmarked a budget of $4.2 million for this program. Systems must meet the criteria set by AMP, in order to qualify for the benefits of the program.

The California Energy Commission launched the New Solar Homes Partnership as part of the California Solar Initiative. It provides eligible homes with financial incentives to encourage new home builders to construct energy efficient houses.

Oregon’s Energy Trust has a Oregon’s Energy Trust that is available for Pacific Power and PGE customers. The program was launched in May of 2003 and those with new photovoltaic (PV) systems installed in existing or new homes, community buildings, municipal facilities and commercial buildings.

A state loan program is currently being offered to qualified residents of Alaska, by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, or AHFC. This incentive will be given to those who borrow a certain amount of money to purchase an existing home. This is also applicable to those who finance or upgrade a household which can be proven to be utilizing energy-efficient methods of operation.
