Chinese-owned solar panel giant Suntech has announced plans to erect its U.S. headquarters in a 100,000 square feet location in Phoenix, Arizona. The building of the site, which will also house a manufacturing plant, was announced last Monday by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer.
The Suntech Power facility is expected to be fully operational by the third quarter of 2010, creating at least 250 new green jobs in the state. Once operational, the facility will likely be the first ever company to be eligible for Arizona’s Renewable Energy Tax Incentive program. Through said program, Suntech can earn refundable tax credits and additional property tax reductions.
