A unique sports stadium was recently completed in Taiwan, after two years of hard work. It is known as the World Games Stadium, and it gets all its power from solar energy via the photovoltaic panels on its roof. The dragon-shaped stadium was designed by Japanese Toyo Iyo, and can seat up to 50,000 sports [...]

Last week, two large solar system installations in different locations were completed. Hopefully more companies will follow suit and get their facilities running on solar energy as well. Let’s take a look at the two recently-completed solar systems. First we have an 800 kW power plant installed by Pacific Power Management for Sierra Aluminum [...]

Japan as usual is working on staying ahead where technology is concerned. Fortunately, for a country so densely populated and so technologically oriented, that includes solar technology. The Japanese government has recently announced that it will be putting $145 million toward solar power in the next few months. I’m not sure exactly how the money [...]

This is a video that shows thin film solar panels used on a home, ok nothing new, but what is interesting is the pricing, the total costs of the installation and panels were 16000 dollars, however 12000 dollars are returned through federal and state clean energy cash incentives and tax rebates. In other words, this [...]

I came across this video which is somewhat related to my last post but merits its own entry. While none of the information is very new, it is a great synopsis of what sustainable energy is, the different alternative energy options we have available to us now, how much they are being used, and what [...]
